COMMUNITY STATE BANK LENDS A HELPING HAND AT THE RACINE COUNTY FAIR

August 10, 2007

This year the Racine County Fair was held from July 25-29 at the Racine County Fairgrounds in Union Grove, WI. As is often the case, Community State Bank had a strong presence at the fair.

As a locally owned and managed independent community bank, Community State Bank has been building long-term relationships within the communities we serve for over a century. An important aspect of being a community bank is giving back to the communities we serve, and each year the Racine County Fair provides us that unique opportunity.

As a member of the Greater Union Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, Community State Bank’s employees volunteered to staff the chamber sweet corn stand at the fair. The day was filled with preparing and roasting sweet corn, grilling delicious hot dogs and brats, and serving up some cold beverages on a hot July day. Dozens of dogs, countless ears of corn, and 6 hours later; a tired, but happy crew turned the reigns over to the next group of volunteers.

Chamber of Commerce Board Member and Community State Bank Assistant Vice President & Marketing Director Jeff Nielsen was pleased with the enthusiasm and hard work of the volunteers. “It’s really nice to be able to come out and support the County Fair,” stated Nielsen. “It was definitely a little warm out there, but we were having so much fun you hardly even noticed.” “I'm glad that Community State Bank is able to contribute as much time and energy as they do," concluded Mr. Nielsen.

In addition to volunteering at the sweet corn stand, Community State Bank employees clerked the “Fur & Feather Livestock Auction” as well. Bank employees documented some of the animal sales for the fair, indicating the seller, the buyer, and the sale amount for each animal. Community State Bank Vice President & Agricultural Lender Dave Moyer, helped coordinate the event. “These volunteers did a great job today,” stated Moyer. “It really doesn't seem like work when you are having this much fun,” he added.
