UNION GROVE- The events of this year's Relay for Life held in Union Grove have officially wrapped up. Union Grove's Relay for Life raised over $37,000!
Part of the success came from
Community State Bank's Relay for Life Team who once again went above and beyond to raise over $9,100 through a series of bake sales, rummage sales, luncheons, and fundraising!
The event was held Friday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 3rd. The theme this year was "Reeling for a Cure" - based on movies. The bank chose "Pirates of the Caribbean" for its theme and chose the message "Treasure your Health". The campsite was very impressive and a hit with the kids who walked the plank over, and over, and over. The raffle for the "Healthy Treasure" baskets was also a hit. The winners were: Darlene Kohlman & Michele Peronto. Consider joining us next year! It's a lot of fun.
Here are some highlights from this year:
What is Relay for Life?
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
